The Moroccan Capital Market Authority has launched its first Capital Markets Seminar, bringing together 35 representatives from 10 African and Middle Eastern capital market regulators in Rabat from Oct. 5-9. The program is designed to share supervisory experience, build regulatory capacity and support greater regional convergence as financial markets become more interconnected. The seminar covers regulatory frameworks and governance, supervision of intermediaries and asset managers, market infrastructure, enforcement, financial reporting and environmental, social and governance matters, digital innovation and investor protection. Participants are examining Morocco’s market reforms and implementation experience, with contributions from domestic market participants, the International Organization of Securities Commissions and the World Bank.
