Armenia's Ministry of Finance reported that Karen Alaverdyan, head of its Department of Regulation of Accounting and Auditing Activities and Monitoring of Reports, presented a new artificial intelligence tool for monitoring public sector organizations’ financial statements. The presentation covered Armenia’s existing monitoring process and the advantages of the new tool. The presentation formed part of a World Bank Public Sector Accounting and Reporting program workshop on digital and AI based solutions for financial and sustainability reporting. Participants also discussed financial management information system architecture, compatibility with modern systems, AI applications in accounting and data quality, and developments in international public sector accounting and sustainability reporting standards.
