The Brunei Darussalam Ministry of Finance reported the launch of a Country Engagement Framework between Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Development Bank. The medium-term framework will guide cooperation in sectors intended to support the country’s socioeconomic development and Wawasan Brunei 2035. The framework focuses on expanding opportunities in Islamic finance, capacity building, food security, micro, small and medium enterprise development, and economic diversification. It builds on cooperation areas identified under a memorandum of understanding signed on Aug. 28, 2024, and coincides with the 40th anniversary of Brunei Darussalam joining the Islamic Development Bank in 1986.
