The Bank of the Lao reported that its Governor, Bounkham Vorachith, hosted a courtesy visit from Carlos Felipe Jaramillo, the World Bank Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific, focusing on continued World Bank support for implementation of Lao PDR’s national socio-economic development plan and a review of the country’s macroeconomic situation. Discussions covered technical assistance and progress on improving access to capital for microenterprises, alongside work to implement anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing measures. The Governor thanked the World Bank Group for technical and financial support provided to the Bank of the Lao and expressed an expectation of continued cooperation.
